Welcome to Agrihouse

a rural coliving community one hour from Rome, based on a 40-hectare regenerative organic certified farm, artistic residency and Ecosystem Restoration Camp, and active member of the Biodistrict of Bracciano and Martignano Lakes.

Spend some time living and working from the Roman countryside together with an international and interdisciplinary community of remote workers, artists, researchers, freelancers, creatives, builders.

We are less than one hour from Rome, easily reachable by train and public transport, so you can enjoy countryside life without necessarily needing a car.

. live on the farm with our family

You’ll stay in one of our boutique rooms, surrounded by nature, peace and plenty of personal space.

The coworking room overlooks the valley and is furnished with antique pieces that have been part of our family for generations.

The large shared kitchen is often where people meet naturally: over coffee, lunch, dinner, recipes and conversations.

Sometimes Nonna joins in too. If you’re curious, you may end up learning how to make homemade ravioli with wild spinach and lemon, or her legendary Acqua Cotta from Castel Giuliano.

The atmosphere is informal, international and friendly.

Many people who come here have spent years abroad or moving between countries before choosing to slow down for a while and reconnect with nature.

Our parents live on the farm and so does our grandmother. Spending time here often feels less like being a guest and more like being temporarily adopted by a slightly chaotic Italian countryside family.

You’ll also be sharing the farm with two livestock guardian dogs, lots of cats and kittens, donkeys, sheep, rabbits and the rest of the local wildlife.

. everyday life in the countryside

If you’re curious about rural life, there is always something happening: collecting eggs; feeding animals; planting vegetables; pruning fruit trees; learning how regenerative agriculture works; cuddling donkeys and all the other furry friends; or simply spending time observing the surprisingly complex social life of cows grazing in a syntropic farming system.

Participation is always optional.

But many people discover that working with their hands for 20 minues can be the perfect complement to working with their minds all day.. fresh air, wild nature and time for yourself

Outside the house you’ll find gardens, a swimming pool, outdoor workspaces, forests, creeks and rolling hills.

There are trails starting directly from the farm where you can walk, run, cycle or simply clear your head between meetings.

From the highest hill you can see the Mediterranean Sea on a clear day. The lake and the sea are both just 10-15 minutes away.

Some people spend their lunch break in the garden. Others end their working day with a swim, a sailing session or a walk through the oak forests.

There is no right way to be here.

. live like a local

get to know the local farmer by going for grocery to the local farmers of the biodistrict, taste local fresh made cheese,  get guided by Barbara to  local wine tasting, explore the Roman historical countryside with ancient ruins, thermal baths,  local traditional fests and parties,… get involved in the activities of the local community for Ecosystem Restoration and the rural activities of local products of the organic farmers of the biodistrict!

. work-life balance

Before work you might join a yoga, meditation or movement session downstairs.

After work, if your boss has driven you slightly crazy, there is always wood waiting to be chopped somewhere in the garden. Surprisingly effective stress management.

Work-life balance is one of those expressions that gets overused these days. Here, it tends to happen by itself.

. a Neo-Rural Future experience

This project takes inspiration from Neo-Rural Futures: bringing together people with different backgrounds, professions and life stories in a rural environment and let th magic happen: ideas cross-pollinate, projects emerge, skills are exchanged; friendships form, sometimes unexpected life decisions happen too.

This rural coliving is simply our way of extending that experiment over time, in a more personal and everyday setting.
